President Ram Nath Kovind gave assent to the National Medical Commission Bill 2019. The Bill will replace the Medical Council of India (MCI), which was functional as per the Indian Medical Council (IMC) Act, 1956.
Andhra Pradesh government launched the Navodayam scheme. The scheme is for thousands of ailing Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the state. Navodayam will offer a lifeline to stressed MSMEs by ensuring that all eligible units are allowed for the one-time restructuring of accounts up to March 31, 2020. About 86,000 MSMEs in the state have been identified for restructuring under Navodayam with an outlay of Rs 3,900 crore.
Department of Heavy Industry sanctioned 5,595 electric buses under phase II of Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of (Hybrid &) Electric Vehicles (FAME) India scheme. The buses are sanctioned to 64 cities in 22 states and union territories for intra city and intercity operations in order to thrust for clean mobility in public transportation.
Delhi government has announced that 11,000 hotspots will be installed to provide Wi-Fi by the end of 2019. It also announced that 4,000 hotspots will be installed at bus stops. The State govt. has planned to install 1,40,000 more CCTVs in the State. The Citywide Wi-Fi project aims to help in bridging the digital divide.
