Srikant Datar, member of Board of Directors of many organisations including, Novartis, ICF International, Stryker Corporation, IIM Calcutta and Ahmedabad, HCL Technologies, etc., has been named as the 11th Dean of Harvard Business School in October 2020. He will assume office as the Dean of the prestigious Harvard Business School from January 2021. The Harvard Business School in Boston, USA is 112 years old and Srikant Datar is the second consecutive dean after the outgoing Dean, Nitin Nohria, who is also of Indian origin. Srikant Datar has been serving in various leadership positions in the Harvard Business School since 1996.
Datar completed his school education in Mumbai. He holds distinction degrees in Mathematics and Economics from the University of Mumbai. He is the recipient of Gold Medal from IIM Ahmedabad. Apart from these, Srikant Datar is a Chartered Accountant and holds two master’s degree (Statistics and Economics) and a Doctorate in Business from the Stanford University, USA.
He has a wide range of interest in design thinking, data science, artificial intelligence, innovative problem solving, strategy implementation, and cost management and has co-authored many books. He played a very important role in envisioning and implementing the innovative hybrid teaching model which Harvard Business School has adopted due to the COVID 19 pandemic.
